Sneak Peek: Exclusive interview with the founders of Fashion Film Festival

The women behind this weekend's Fashion Film Festival know that movies are one of our biggest sources of inspiration when it comes to fashion. Whether it’s a character or a scene, we take pieces of films with us and look back to them long after we’ve left the theatre. Check out a sneak peek of our upcoming issue featuring an exclusive interview with the founders of this stylish affair!

Why didn't WE think of that?!

Aah, the internet. Endless D.I.Y. inspiration, so many D.I.Y. ideas! Here are a few of our favorite things for the home... Things that are extremely cheap or even totally free... Things we wish WE thought of and would love to try!

This one's a total freebie: Just arrange your book shelves by color and mix vertical and horizontal for an eye-catching display.

Eclectic Elegance: Marni For H&M

We are so ready for a fashion week detox. We love you Proenza, Ralph and Rodarte, but we also love being able to afford food and shelter. Thank you, Marni for H&M, for creating a gorgeous new high street collection everyone can get excited about!

The look book is divine, and the prices are heaven sent. The entire collection goes for $10 to $149 and will be available in select H&M stores on March 8th. (Wear your football padding, shopping at H&M that day is going to be a full-contact sport.)

This collection is really unusual... It's eclectic and refined with an exotic, vintage sensibility. Versatile, layer-worthy and absolutely perfect for the transition into spring! And word on the street is that these clothes look like "real" Marni, the highly coveted and highly priced Italian label we know and love.

The experts say these threads look as good up close and personal as they do in the look book pics and in Sofia Coppola's amazing commercial which we panic for:

We dig the Brian Ferry song and the posh Moroccan location. We want to hang out with these gorgeous people. But mostly, we just want to wear these clothes. Check out the full look book to see it all!

So what's the verdict? Will you brave the crowds and see Marni at H&M for yourself?

It's Mardi Gras!! Bead All That You Can Bead

It's Fat Tuesday and we've got beads on the brain. Tradition aside, plastic party favors need not apply... We're using today as an excuse to go all out on the bead front.

We're taking the beads we'd wear anyway and proudly layering them, in hopes that at least a few kindred spirits will 'get it.' We're so inspired by this- because beads WORK together, people.

A strand from the 60's works with a Forever 21 impulse buy. Your Nana's understated pearl choker is the ideal counterpoint for the outlandish resin piece you've been wondering how to wear.
See?! Beads bring people together!

When in doubt, ask Coco (Chanel, that is.)

Mix. Match. Layer. Love.
We're totes loving this look from fashionising:

To bead or not to bead: What was the question?

Have fun!

Blending into the Background

Remember the scene in Garden State when Zach Braff stands in front of a wallpapered wall in a shirt his aunt made him out of the same fabric? Just me? Anyhoo, I've always loved that scene and artist Cecilia Paredes' camouflage series reminds me of that—but 10x cooler of course. With a team of assistants to help her, Cecilia uses body paint to blend herself seamlessly into intricate floral backgrounds. Beautiful!
